Alaska Rainbow Trout Fly Fishing is our true specialty. It's what we do.
This is the only Designated Trophy Trout area in Alaska, so if you're looking for the largest rainbows on the planet this is THE place for you. Although the rainbows are resident fish, there are peak times to fish for them: June 8th (Opening day) through the first week in July and then in the fall from the first week in September through the end of October. Our trout fishing guides are all very experienced in all aspects of Alaska Trout fishing: DRY FLIES, STREAMERS, TOP WATER MOUSING and EGG or BEAD fishing. June is our peak dry fly season. September is our peak nymphing season using eggs/beads.
Fishing for Sockeyes/Reds on the Copper and Gibraltar Rivers is an experience to behold. The sockeye run in this drainage is the largest of any salmon run in the world, averaging 8-10 million fish annually. Sockeyes sound like a beer commercial: Fight hard. Taste Great. They are absolutely delectable: smoke them, cook them over an open fire or take them home in a cooler; just don't tell your friends you have them when you get home or they'll be gone in a heartbeat. Season: The sockeye run starts the first week in July and continues through the last week in August.
